Dr. Yang received his MD in 1984 from Jilin Medical College, MS in Radiation Biology in 1997 and PhD in Immunology in 1991 from Norman Bethune University, China. He did his postdoctoral training in Immunology at the Mitsubishi Kagaku Institute of Life Sciences in Japan (1992-1994) and Harvard Medical School in Boston (1994-1997). Dr. Yang worked previously on the faculty in the Department of Immunology at Harvard Medical School and Senior Investigator at the Transplantation Biology Research Center, Massachusetts General Hospital for 13 years, and joined the Faculty at Columbia University and the Columbia Center for Translational Immunology in 2010. He is currently Professor of Medical Sciences at the Department of Medicine and Principle Investigator at the Columbia Center for Translational Immunology.
Dr Yang’s research involves allogeneic and xenogeneic transplantation immunology, stem cell transplantation, and humanized mouse models. For more information on current research, please see research description and publications.
